THE Niger State Ministry of Sports Development has dissolved the 28 sporting associations in the state.
The associations were also directed to conduct elections before March 15.
The dissolution of the associations followed the expiration of their three-year tenure that began in 2014.
The dissolution letter was signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Hajia Ramatu Sulaiman, who also acknowledged the contribution of the associations to the growth and development of sports in the state in the last three years.
Spokesman for the ministry, Mr. Isaiah Fred, who confirmed the story, said the ministry would ensure that the associations followed the guidelines for the elections.
