The Minister of State for Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire has said that no fewer than 120 health personnel have been trained to handle his ministry’s emergency centres along the Kaduna-Abuja highway preparatory for the flight diversion from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja to the Kaduna Airport.

The minister stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, Kaduna on Saturday.

Ehanire said the measure was aimed at making adequate preparations for the emergency health centres and to give confidence to road users, in case of any accident.

The minister also noted that his ministry, in collaboration with other stakeholders would provide 11 ambulances, which would be operational along the highway.

He added that the ministry had made adequate arrangements with the Federal Road Safety Commission, the National Emergency Management Agency, the Ministry of Defence, Police, Federal Fire Service and other relevant agencies for referral cases as well as to ensure safety of lives.
