The Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has commended the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, and men of the Nigeria Police for finally putting an end to the activities of notorious armed robber and kidnapper, Henry Chibueze, AKA Vampire.

Chibueze was killed in a gun duel with the police on Thursday, over a month after his colleagues stormed an Owerri High Court where he was standing trial and freed him.

Okorocha also commended the officers and men of the Directorate of State Services who first arrested Vampire in Owerri.

“The arrest raised the consciousness of both the security agencies and the public about the existence of the hardened criminal,” he said.

The governor explained that the killing of Vampire and arrest of his gang members was one of the focus of his administration, when he assumed office in 2011.
