    Three pupils killed, others injured in Delta accidents

    Tragedy struck on Tuesday as two separate accidents reportedly claimed three pupils on their way to school at Issele-Uku in Aniocha North and Summit Junction in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

     Our correspondent gathered that the two accidents occurred around 8am when the motorcycles conveying the pupils were crushed by two vehicles, leaving three of the pupils dead.

     It was learnt that the Isele-Uku accident occurred between a motorcycle and a tipper near the community roundabout when Jude Nwani, a former aide to the ex-speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei, was taking four of his kids to school on a motorcycle.

     Sources said the tipper driver lost control and crushed the motorcycle.

     Two of the four children reportedly died instantly, while thee two others and their father sustain injuries.

    Another accident involving a motorcycle and a vehicle left one schoolboy dead at Summit Junction on the Onitsha-Asaba Expressway.

    An eyewitness said the motorcycle that ran into the vehicle due to brakes failure, adding that the survivor was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba.

    The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, said he had not be informed of the development.
