GOVERNMENT and stakeholders in the education sector have been called upon to see sports an important aspect of the curriculum. Proprietress, Krisbethel schools, Chief Mrs Christianah Olayinka Ojo made this known as school’s unified inter-house sports held recently at Agege stadium.
Speaking of the importance of sports in the academic lives of the students, Mrs Ojo said that the children became better intellects and better able to equipped to handle life’s challenges.
Her words, “ When a child or a student in active in sports, aside the physical benefits it affords like body built up and the fostering of healthy relationships.
Sports enables one to be focus and better equipped to handle challenges life poses. “ With this in mind, sports should be accorded the same relevance with other subjects in the curriculum.” added Krisbethel proprietress.
Mrs Ojo who reiterated that a learned person was one that passed through education and also let education passed through him or her; noted that education should be all inclusive to avail the learner the opportunity to be educationally, morally, physical and spiritually sound. Her words, “In Krisbethel through our inclusive curriculum, our students for the future. And not only that, they are better equipped educationally. Morally, physically and spiritually. “
The principal, Mr Joseph Adetiba who thanked the Lagos state government for making the stadium conducive.
