    Ogun doctors protest shortage of personnel, equipment, others

    ABEOKUTA—Scores of medical doctors in Ogun State under the aegis the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, yesterday, besieged the governor’s office in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, in protest against decay in the state health sector.

    Their demands are, regular payment of doctors salaries and dues, lack of recruitment of enough medical personnel and equipments as well as poor infrastructures.

    The protesting doctors clad in their lab-coats took off from Ministry Information and Strategy, marched to the Governor’s office where they were addressed by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, and ended the demonstration at the State House of Assembly, all at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

    They sang solidarity songs and carried placards with various inscriptions, some of which read “Extreme Manpower shortage is a bane of quality health care deliver in Ogun State,” “Governor Amosun Bring Back our interns and NYSC health workers”, “Give us good working condition to serve our people”, “Fulfill your promises of quality health care  in Ogun State”
