Producer of socio-cultural film, Omiran (translates as giant), Tolulope Oke, has expressed delight at the premiere of the movie in London, which she described as a success.

Oke, who returned to Nigeria last week, after the premiere which held at Planet Nollywood in Camberwell Green, South East London, said the event had all the trappings of an A-list with ample attendance.

“The turnout was impressive and I was overwhelmed by the support of movie fans in the UK. The acceptance of the movie is awesome and this is a clear indication that it will record more success with the Nigerian audience,” Oke, who had previously premiered two of her movies, Bi Ala and Adun,  in London in 2012 and 2014, said.

Her co-star, Femi Adebayo, also attended the premiere, with the producer saying this made the guests ecstatic.

Omiran, a movie adapted from a real life experience and directed by Muyideen Oladapo, explores the theme of love and integrity. It stars notable names in Nollywood, including Funsho Adeolu, Rose Odika, Oladapo and Oke.

Raphael Olakunle-Collins (Adebayo) is an unscrupulous drug baron who puts up a front to hide his nefarious activities. His love affair with Ayinke, (Oke), culminates in unsavoury developments for him as the scenes gets to its finale, holding the audience spell-bound.

The University of Lagos Sociology graduate, who honed her acting craft with a diploma in Dramatic Art from the Obafemi Awolowo University, had earlier acted in Bi Ala, Adun, Home Sick and Dazzling Mirage – directed by veteran film maker, Tunde Kelani – and Zone 222, an M-Net TV series directed by Rogers Ofime.
