The Kogi State Government has approved N1, 338, 646, 301. 05 for the payment of pensioners’ arrears from January last year till date.
The Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Kingsley Fanwo, announced this in Government House Lokoja.
Fanwo said Governor Yahaya Bello gave the approval after an executive council meeting, on Friday.
According to him, those to be paid include pensioners on the approved list in the just-concluded screening exercise.
He noted that the payment was with immediate effect as government had done the needful by ensuring there was no further delay in the payment of pensioners’ entitlements.
He commended the senior citizens for their patience and assured that the Bello-led administration would continue to place top priority on the peoples’ welfare.
