HarvestPlus has been named one of the eight semi-finalists by 100&Change for its efforts at reducing hunger and providing micro-nutrients to billions of people.
It is a global competition for a single $100 million grant from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation that seeks solutions to critical problems.
The Chief Executive Officer, HarvestPlus, Bev Postma, said that the World Health Organisation estimates that malnutrition contributes to 3.1 million deaths of children under-five every year, almost half of all deaths for that age group.
