First City Monument Bank says a batch of young secondary school leavers have completed a three-month intensive skills acquisition and basic business management training programme to empower them with entrepreneurial and employability skills.

The bank, in a statement on Wednesday, said the FCMB Women Initiative sponsored the young girls in line with its commitment to continually impact lives in communities and to mark this year’s International Women’s Day.

It said the initiative was borne out of the desire to lay a solid, early foundation to change the fortunes of the youths who benefited from the ‘girl child’ empowerment project.

According to the statement, the youth empowerment and employability training programme sponsored by the FCMB Women Initiative was in collaboration with Jakin NGO, an organisation with an overall aim of solving some of the challenges faced by underprivileged youth.

It said the batch was made up of 10 young secondary school leavers from rural communities in Lagos within the age range of 16 and 21 years.
