As part of activities to celebrate World Kidney Day, experts from the Nephrology Unit of Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara, have identified regular checks of the kidneys, avoiding smoking, regular exercise and regular intake of water as ways of preventing kidney disease.
At a seminar organised to mark the 2017 World Kidney Day, with the theme ‘Kidney disease and obesity,’ held at DELSUTH auditorium, the lead speaker, Dr. Chika Ezue, a Consultant Endocrinologist in the Department of Internal Medicine, stressed the need for people to observe their weight as obesity which is caused by excess fat could also lead to kidney failure.
