Brazil’s recession is now the worst in the country’s history after extending for an eighth consecutive quarter to hit the two year mark, GDP figures showed Tuesday.
The government statistics office said that the economy shrank 3.6 percent in 2016, following a 3.8 per cent fall in 2015. This is the deepest decline since records began.
