Yenagoa—Civil society groups, led by the Federation of Women Lawyers, FIDA, and the Global Care also known as Operation Rescue, have described as a welcome development the decision of Bayelsa State Government to set up the Mr. Andrew Arthur-led committee to review the administration of criminal justice with peculiarity to the state.
The Chairperson of FIDA in Bayelsa State, Dise Ogbise-Erhisere, commended the government for the initiative.
On her part, the coordinator of the Child Right Advocacy group, Operation Rescue, Princess Egbe, commended the state government for the bold initiative and described the efforts to domesticate laws relating to violence against women and child as commendable.
