The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) says it has concluded plans to premiere the documentary, “Dancing Mask: The ANA Story’’.
ANA’s national president, Mr Abdullahi Denja, spoke about the premiere during a telephone interview on Thursday in Abuja.
“After the media preview of the documentary last month (February), we started planning toward the general premiere.
“We are going to premiere the documentary in April; the national executive of ANA and the Box Office Production have done a lot to facilitate it,” Denja said.
He said that the documentary was about the history, the trend, movement and all the achievements and challenges that ANA had passed through over the years.
“We want to tell the ANA story spanning the last 35 years from different angles: the angles of sacrifices, achievements, prospects, challenges and the rest of them.
“The documentary is an ANA story being told in both still and moving pictures. Pictures do not lie, so the documentary is a true story about the association.
“That is what the documentary is all about,” the ANA president said.
He said that the documentary could also serve as a primary source to other projects that the association would be embarking upon.
“The one-hour documentary will showcase interviews with past and present leaders of the association and other notable activities of the association.
“The N6 million-budget documentary will also showcase the association’s land located at Mpape, Abuja, where it plans to build a Writers’ Village.
