ASABA—APC Chairman, Aniocha South Local Government, Delta State, Chief Festus Ojiogu, has stated that the fortune of the party has changed owing to its nationwide structures and acceptability.
He made this known in Ogwashi Uku during a reception for Chief Emmanuel Ogwuda, where he reiterated that “the era of APC being positioned at the receiving end in Nigeria’s politics and Delta State in particular has gone forever.
“APC now has the support of security forces, financial backing and strong followers at the local government, state and federal levels, to the extent that those who have left the party are coming back just as others from other political parties are trying to find their way into the party. The party is waxing stronger.”
Chief Emmanuel Ogwuda, in his opening speech said; “It is an insult that Asaba Textile Mill, which had over 2,000 workers, was sold. Leaders of the area were alive when some people were mismanaging the company, which eventually led to its collapse.
“My intention is to push for quota system to be respected as well as visit every ward in the local government to intimate them of my plans to transform the area.”
Nwalie Godwin, Ward Chairman, assured the people that Ogwuda, a House of Representatives aspirant, will transform the area if given the privilege to serve.
He said: “I blame the representatives of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituencies at the National Assembly for gross negligence in their legislative assignments.”
