Former Vice President, Abubakar Atiku, Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun and former Chief of the General Staff, General Oladipupo Diya (retd), yesterday, led other dignitaries to pay condolence visit to the family of late General Adeyinka Adebayo, who died on the eve oF his 89th birthday in Lagos.
Other dignitaries who also visited the home of the Adebayo were: former military administrator of Lagos, Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu (retd), Vice presidential candidates, Fola Adeola and Pastor Tunde Bakare, ex-speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora, Mrs Betsy Obaseki, wife of Edo State governor, Ayo Opadokun and others.
In their torrent of tributes, they described the late elder statesman as one of the foremost dedicated military officer the country ever produced.
Atiku, who arrived the home of the late general at about 1:30 pm, said in his condolence message: “On behalf of my entire family and I, we condole with the family of late gen. Adebayo.”
The ex-vice president further argued: “He was one of the foremost and dedicated leader this country has produced.”
The former vice president prayed God to grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.
Amosun added that the late Adebayo was one of the leader that started what they were enjoying presently.
His words, “And that was why when the news of his death was announced, the entire people of Ogun State believe that something important has departed this world.
“He is one of those person especially military officers who will live on forever. And this is because of their effort to the development of the country,” Amosun added.
